Massachusetts and Rhode Island to see heavy rain, strong winds with possible flooding, power outages

Southern Massachusetts and Rhode Island is expected to get heavy rains and strong winds this week.

According to the National Weather Service Boston, Wednesday into Wednesday night an impactful storm will bring heavy rainfall and strong coastal winds to southern New England.

Localized urban and poor drainage street flooding is possible with 50-60 mph wind gusts near the coast.

The heaviest rain and strongest wind is expected late Wednesday and Wednesday evening.

A High Wind Watch is in effect for coastal southern New England including Fall River.
