Massachusetts and Fall River Police investigating after remains found of two deceased individuals
Authorities are investigating after a gruesome discovery on Saturday morning.
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III announced the discovery of skeletal remains in the Freetown State Forest.
At approximately 9:50 a.m., Fall River Police received a 911 call, placed by a hunter who was deep in the Freetown State Forest, that indicated the discovery of skeletal remains.
Upon arrival, Fall River Police, Freetown Police, Freetown Environmental Police, and the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office were directed to a small Honda Accord deep within the State Forest off of an access road.
Upon inspection of the area, first responders located the skeletal remains of two adults in and around the area of the vehicle along with a suicide note.
The remains were transported to the Massachusetts Office of the Chief Medical Examiner pending autopsies.
The investigation into this matter is active and ongoing.
