Massachusetts 7 day weighted average COVID-19 positive test rate increases, 6 reported dead

Massachusetts saw an increase in hospitalizations and positive test rate in Tuesday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 286 more positive cases announced today. An increase from Monday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate increased to 0.9%.

Massachusetts had seen 235 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 123,425 with 6 more reported dead for a total of 9,016.

11,796 tests were performed on new individuals, 405 less than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 1,980,030. The overall amount of tests administered is now 3,075,812.

Hospitalizations have decreased in 91 of the last 127 days, however, hospitalizations increased by 8 today to see the total rise to 310.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to September 9th
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 83,091
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 81,102
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 1,989

According to the CDC, as of September 15th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 6,537,627 with 194,092 dead.
