A young Massachusetts boy is fighting for his life after reportedly falling from a window.

According to police, on Friday, at approximately 12:45 p.m., Worcester Police Operations officers, Worcester Fire and Worcester EMS responded to the area of 490 Shrewsbury Street and met with a father who was in the process of driving his 2-year-old son to the emergency room.

The father reported that the child had fallen from a window at their home and was now unresponsive. Officers began CPR on the child who was then transported to an area hospital by Worcester EMS. The child remains in critical condition.

Worcester Police detectives and Crime Scene investigators conducted a follow-up investigation at the hospital and at the home in the Hamilton Street neighborhood.

Detectives learned that the child had fallen through a closed window screen and fallen 10 to 12 feet to the driveway below.

Late last month, a Fall River child also fell from a window at a home.

The incident remains under investigation but appears to be accidental at this time.
