Massachusetts 18-year-old killed, four others seriously injured, after terrible weekend crash

An 18-year-old has been killed and four others seriously injured after a terrible weekend crash.

According to Upton Police, on Saturday, just after 9:00 p.m., the Upton Police and Upton Fire/EMS Departments responded to the intersection of Glenview Street and Pearl Street for å reported single vehicle crash with multiple injuries. The preliminary investigation revealed that 18-year-old Gabriel Dias De Holanda of Bellingham was operating a 2019 Acura ILX sedan travelling North on Glenview Street when Holanda’s vehicle left the roadway striking a tree on the front passenger side of the vehicle before overturing on Glenview Street.

Holanda, and three rear seat passengers, identified as 20-year-old Gabriel Brandao of Milford, 19-year-old Julio Da Silva of Milford, and 18-year-old Abraham Seri of Milford were able to free themselves from the vehicle and were transported to UMass Medical Center in Worcester with serious non-life-threatening injuries. The front seat passenger, identified as 18-year-old Jacob Osanya of Uxbridge, was removed from the vehicle by Fire/EMS personnel after extensive extrication. Osanya later died from his injuries at UMass Medical Center.

The crash is under investigation by members of the Upton Police Department, the Central Massuchusetts Law Enforcement Council Collision Reconstruction Team and investigators from the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office. Upton Police and Fire/EMS were assisted at the scene with extrication and transport of the victims by our mutual aid partners from Hopkinton. Mendon, Westborough, and Northbridge.
