A 17-year-old Massachusetts teen who was stabbed to death Saturday is being remembered.

According to police, Chelsea Police responded to reports of an altercation on Eastern Avenue near Stockton Street at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers located two juvenile male victims. One victim was transported to CHA Everett, where he was pronounced deceased. The second victim, a 15-year-old, was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Chelsea Police Detectives, along with Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, are actively investigating the incident that allegedly involved a firearm and knives.

The suspects and victims reportedly know each other.

The deceased is 17-year-old Juan Carlos Lemus of Chelsea.

According to a GoFundMe fundraiser, Lemus “was a smiling person who liked to make people laugh, very kind and protective of his family at his young age. Carlitos had a life ahead of him that was taken from him without warning.”

“Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the entire Chelsea community as we work diligently to bring those responsible to justice,” said Chelsea Police Chief Keith E. Houghton.

No arrests have been made.
