Marshfield teen allegedly breaks into, steals items from gas station then steals car and burns it
A Massachusetts teen is facing several charges after a recent incident.
According to police, on Thursday, The Marshfield Police Department was assisting the Duxbury Police Department with an investigation of a car fire on Duxbury Beach. The vehicle was registered in Marshfield and appeared to have been lit on fire. While speaking with the vehicle owner, it was determined that the vehicle had been parked at a local service station overnight and had been stolen. While investigating, Marshfield Police received multiple alarms from the same service station.
Upon arrival, it was determined that the business had been broken into and the suspect stole cash and several cartons of cigarettes just prior to Officer’s arrival.
Officers reviewed the service station’s CCTV video and observed a suspect wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gloves and a ski mask, take the above mentioned vehicle from the rear parking lot earlier in the night. The suspect then returned approximately 2 hours later, broke into the building and stole cash and cigarettes.
A K-9 was requested from the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department and the scene was processed by their Bureau of Criminal Investigation. During the investigation, a Marshfield Police Officer observed a suspect walking in the area. He was subsequently detained and identified as 19-year-old Aidan Boyle of Marshfield. Boyle matched the suspect’s description and had in his possession, a black hooded sweatshirt, gloves, a ski mask, a large amount of cash and several cartons of cigarettes.
After investigating, Boyle was placed under arrest by Marshfield Officers. Cash bail was set at $25,000.
Boyle was arraigned at Plymouth District Court on the charges of Breaking and Entering Nighttime With Intent to Commit a Felony, Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, and Malicious Destruction of Property.
Boyle pled not guilty.
Additional charges are pending in Duxbury.
