Market owner opening new restaurant with Carribean cuisine in Fall River
A Fall River woman is looking to fill a need that she sees in the city.
Tamara Nerestant went in front of the Fall River Licensing Board Wednesday looking for a Common Victuallers License for her establishment Piyay Resto at 1335 Pleasant Street.
Nerestant also owns the Piyay Market at nearby 1423 Pleasant Street, a Haitian grocery store selling authentic Haitian food, ingredients and products.
Piyay Resto (which means bargain restaurant in Haitian Creole) looks to be somewhat of an extension of the market, serving Carribean and Island fare hot from the kitchen.
The eatery will have a seating capacity of 16.
Hours of operation are expected to be Monday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Nerestant was granted the wanted license by the Board.
