Man with Fall River ties being remembered for warm smile, generous spirit after propane explosion

A local man with ties across Bristol County has died in what appears to be tragic circumstances.

According to multiple reports, on April 11th, a man was killed in a propane explosion in North Providence.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. in a wooded area behind Geneva Mills.

The man, identified as Christopher Buck, had rigged a propane tank to a stove top, which exploded, leading to his death at the scene.

Officials believe he was likely trying to stay warm while sleeping outside as temperatures were in the mid 30s at the time.

Two others who were about 100 feet away witnessed the explosion and called 911.

No other injuries were reported.

Buck is being remembered for his warm smile, generous spirit and love for adventure.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been created by his family for funeral expenses.

Buck is listed as previously living in Bristol County including Norton and Fall River.

Services have not yet been announced.
