Man who was stabbed charged in stabbing of female in Norton
Police are investigating after two people were found stabbed Saturday afternoon in Norton.
According to Norton Police, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Norton Police and Fire were dispatched to Lincoln Street for a report of a woman lying in the roadway with apparent stab wounds and in and out of consciousness.
A motorist driving by called 911 to report the incident. Upon arrival, officers tended to the female victim and were informed by a bystander that a male was at the rear of a nearby residence who was also injured. Officers found the male to also have apparent stab wounds.
Norton Fire personnel treated both parties at the scene and transported them to area hospitals.
Both parties are in stable condition.
The male has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury.
Police did not have more details as of this writing as the incident remains under investigation.
