Porch pirates are nothing new in Massachusetts, however, their tactics have changed to become a little more sophisticated.
The Westminster Police Department recently took reports of thefts of delivered packages from FedEx and Amazon. These reports are very similar with a typically high-valued package being delivered and within minutes of the delivery, a suspect is seen approaching the house carrying a box or a bag and will either take the package or trade an empty box for an item that was delivered.
Suspects have been wearing counterfeit Amazon vests.
If you are planning to receive a package of a high-valued item, police recommend trying to make it so that the delivery is directly exchanged or schedule deliveries when you are home.

The state allows this. They won’t prosecute under a certain amount so why not? Soft on crime policies enable theft.
Absolutely, it’s beyond insane. Hope it doesn’t become insidious as in Oakland where they won’t prosecute shoplifting for anything under $750. Seems like intentional weakening of the nation.
Why do they use a photo of a person of color in the photo? FBI statistics show most package thieves are white males.
Because that is the only picture we had of a recent alleged package theft in the area. We don’t have a rolodex of photos of recent package thefts.
Why did you have to use a recent photo? Terrible excuse 😂
Kinda funny how it’s always a HIGH VALUE item how do they know what’s being g delivered sounds like an inside job to me Like some of the Amazon drivers are in on the scheme otherwise they wouldn’t know it’s a high value item
Wrong!!
Well you have the right to defend your property! JUST DO IT.
