Man sentenced in Fall River Superior Court after crash in Somerset led to drug, gun, and OUI charges
A local man pled guilty in Fall River Superior Court Monday after an incident that allegedly started in Rhode Island and ended in Somerset.
According to a press release, on September 22nd, 37-year-old Jaron Monroe of 57 Cambridge Ave Unit B in Warwick, RI. Monroe was taken into custody by the Massachusetts State Police in the area of Exit 10 A, Interstate 195 West, in the Town of Somerset after crashing a reportedly stolen grey Toyota SUV after being in a reported police pursuit. A firearm was recovered.
According to court records, Monroe pled guilty Monday in Fall River Superior Court on OUI-Drugs, Trafficking Cocaine 18-36 Grams, Possession of a Class B Drug, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Possession of a Firearm Without an FID Card, and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device and was sentenced to not less than 2 years to not more than 3 years in prison with credit for 281 days already served.
