Man released on bail after Fall River, New Bedford Police Departments make arrest, recover property in reported armed robbery

The Fall River and New Bedford Police Departments combined to make an arrest and recover stolen property in an armed robbery.
According to Lieutenant Matthew Mendes, on Monday, the Fall River Police Department’s Major Case Division continued its investigation into an armed robbery that occurred on Saturday at the Self-Storage facility located at 288 Plymouth Avenue. The incident involved the theft of a Razor MX 650.
Through diligent investigative efforts and in collaboration with the New Bedford Police Department, detectives were able to locate the stolen Razor in the City of New Bedford and identify the suspect as 20-year-old Carlos Figueroa Gomez of New Bedford, MA.
Gomez was subsequently taken into custody and charged with Armed Robbery and Witness Intimidation on Tuesday.
At Wednesday’s arraignment, Gomez pled not guilty and later posted $2,500 cash bail.
The investigation was led by FRPD’s Detective Joshua Pelletier with assistance from Detective Roberto Dacunha from the New Bedford Police Department.
