(FALL RIVER, MA) A man has resigned his position in Fall River after controversial comments were made on social media following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

According to the City of Fall River, after discussions between Jason Bouchard-Nawrocki and Mayor Coogan over the weekend and again this morning, both parties have agreed that it would be in the best interest of the city and the Historical Commission for Chair Bouchard-Nawrocki to resign from his volunteer position on the commission.

“This has not been an issue taken lightly and going forward all members of boards and commissions will be receiving a copy of the City of Fall River’s social media policy as reflected in our Employee Handbook.”

No word yet on who will replace him.
