Man found unresponsive rushed to New Bedford trauma center after motorcycle crash

A man was seriously injured after a weekend motorcycle crash in Plymouth County.

According to the Lakeville Fire Department, first responders responded to the area of 239 Main Street (Route 105) just before 9:00 p.m. Sunday for the report of a motorcycle crash.

At the time of the crash, Ambulance 3 was committed to a prior medical emergency.

Ambulance 2, Ambulance 3 (from the hospital), and the Fire Chief responded to the scene. A recall was transmitted for supplemental staffing.

Firefighters found the adult male motorcycle operator down in the roadway. Bystanders reported that the patient was initially unresponsive. The rider was transported by Ambulance 2 to the trauma center at St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment of multiple injuries.

The incident is under investigation.
