Man fatally struck by Massachusetts Bay Transportation train in morning incident

A man was struck and killed by a Massachusetts Bay Transportation train on Tuesday morning.

An adult male was fatally struck by a Blue Line train at Aquarium Station in Boston around 10:30 a.m.

According to multiple reports, the man intentionally entered the tracks (referred to as the right of way) on the outbound platform as the train approached, and no foul play is suspected.

The victim’s identity has not been publicly released, and the incident is under investigation by MBTA Transit Police.

The collision caused a significant disruption to Blue Line service between Government Center and Airport stations, halting trains for several hours.

Service resumed just before 2:00 p.m.
