UPDATE: Man dead in Taunton motorcycle crash
One person has died following a motorcycle crash yesterday evening.
Chief Edward Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.
On Saturday, April 6, at 2:03 p.m., the Taunton Police Department responded to area of School Street and Blinns Court for a report of a motor vehicle crash.
An on scene investigation revealed that a Suzuki motorcycle, operated by a 24-year-old Taunton man, was traveling south on School Street, when it struck a MINI Cooper, operated by an 18-year-old female from Taunton, which was also traveling south on School Street and turning left onto Blinns Court. The 18-year-old was evaluated on scene, but did not suffer injuries.
As a result of the collision, the Taunton man suffered serious injuries and was transported to Morton Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation by Taunton Police Detectives and the Massachusetts State Police.
