Man arrested on drug trafficking charges in Fall River, held on bail after dangerousness hearing

A man arrested in Fall River is still being held on bail after a dangerousness hearing.

According to police, on April 26th, CAST Detectives conducted surveillance at a gas station in Fall River based on information that 35-year-old Leonard Starcher Jr., who had an active arrest warrant, was operating a vehicle in the area.

After confirming Leonard’s warrant status, detectives approached and detained him; a pat frisk revealed a concealed bag containing 52 grams of suspected cocaine in his pants.

Starcher was charged with trafficking cocaine (>36–<100 grams) and the outstanding warrant.

According to court records, on April 28th, Starcher pled not guilty and was issued a $2,000 cash bail.

A dangerousness hearing was held on Wednesday in Fall River Superior Court with a bail review petition denied.

Starcher’s next scheduled court appearance is a pretrial hearing on May 21st.
