Man accused of being Bristol County porch pirate after packages from multiple communities recovered

Police have arrested an alleged porch pirate in Bristol County.

According to police, on Friday, Easton Police Detectives were investigating a recent surge in package theft from Easton neighborhoods. While conducting surveillance, detectives observed and encountered an individual suspected of stealing a package from a residence. After a brief investigation, detectives discovered a package containing an Apple iPhone concealed on the man. Multiple other packages were also recovered which were stolen from neighboring towns.

26-year-old Aneudy Jose Nunez-Diaz of Haverhill, MA was taken into custody without incident. Nunez-Diaz is charged with Larceny under $1,200, Receiving Stolen Property over $1,200, and other offenses.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant due to a recent increase in package thefts in our community. Thieves are actively targeting homes, particularly those with deliveries left on doorsteps or porches.

1. Track Deliveries: Use tracking services to know when your packages are arriving.

2. Request Signature Confirmation: Opt for delivery options that require a signature upon receipt.

3. Install Security Cameras: Visible cameras can deter thieves and help identify suspects.

4. Use a Secure Drop-off Location: Consider delivery to your workplace or a package locker service.

5. Alert Neighbors: Watch out for each other and report suspicious activity immediately.
