Maine man accused of supplying over 5 kilos of cocaine trafficked into Rhode Island
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A Maine man who allegedly supplied multiple kilos of cocaine that were trafficked into Rhode Island appeared in federal court in Rhode Island and was arraigned on an indictment issued by the Grand Jury. He was ordered detained, announced Acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom.
According to a press release, 31-year-old Evert Delgado-Menjivar, arrested at his Westbrook, ME, home was indicted on charges of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine and distribution of cocaine, and two counts of distribution of cocaine 500 grams or more.
Court documents reflect that in July 2025, members of the Drug Enforcement Administration learned of a person looking to sell multi-kilogram quantities of cocaine. In August of 2025, a co-defendant is alleged to have distributed kilogram quantities of cocaine on Delgado-Menjivar’s behalf.
The sentence imposed in this matter will be determined by a federal district judge after consideration of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stacey A. Erickson.
The matter was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
