FALL RIVER MA – A South Coast man, known for his decades of service to LaFrance Hospitality, died on Saturday.

According to an obituary, Frank Lima passed away “peacefully after a nearly ten-year battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends. Throughout his illness, Frank showed remarkable perseverance and quiet determination. He experienced remission and lived long enough to reach milestones he had been holding on for, some of them for years. He made it to his daughter Paige’s wedding and became a grandfather to his daughter Caitlyn’s son, moments that meant everything to him.”

Lima worked for nearly 40 years for LaFrance Hospitality and the Fall River/Westport Hampton Inn, “where he was known for his loyalty, reliability, and strong work ethic.” Lima began his tenure with the company as a front desk team member when the hotel opened and he worked his way through various roles to hotel General Manager.

The obituary noted that “Frank was a gifted musician who played the clarinet, saxophone, and cello. Music was a lifelong passion and a constant presence throughout his life. Frank loved his family, his friends, his boat, his music, and the home he purchased in 1979 at 155 Cottage Street. The house was boarded up when he bought it, and he poured everything he had into restoring it to its original condition. He carefully preserved its original colors, wallpapers, and moldings, taking pride in every detail.”

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:30 pm at the Unitarian Memorial Church, 102 Green St., Fairhaven. Lunch and refreshments will follow in the church hall.
