Local man suffers series of injuries, has long road to recovery, after Fall River motorcycle crash
A local man is recovering from a list of injuries after a motorcycle crash in Fall River late last week.
According to his girlfriend Legna Martinez and scanner transmissions, on Friday, at approximately 8:15 p.m. John Williamson collided with a vehicle while riding his motorcycle on Newton Street in front of the entrance for Raising Cane’s.
Williamson’s injuries include a broken right arm, a broken left hand, a broken left foot and three fractures in his pelvis. He has had multiple surgeries, according to Martinez.
“His condition is stable, but he is going to have a long journey ahead of him.”
Martinez says that she created a fundraiser to get Williamson through this difficult time.
“He’s (been) in the hospital since Friday. He went for surgery (Monday) but he is going to be many months without working just because of this irresponsible driver. I did the GoFundMe just to help make his journey to heal a little better. He has a little daughter that depends on him too, and he is going to be out of work because he can’t walk because (of the) three fractures in his hips plus both of his hands and foot are broken.”
Martinez lives near Raising Cane’s, and she says that since it opened, traffic has been a nightmare in that area.
“Every day since this new establishment opened no one puts the signal to turn right. (Its) tragic, every day.”
We wish John a speedy recovery.
