Local man overdoses while driving in Portsmouth, causes head on crash
On March 5th at approximately 4:00, the Portsmouth Police Department responded to East Main Road in the area of Ethel Drive for a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles.

Upon the arrival of officers, it was revealed that Michael Lima had been operating a green Cadillac south bound on East Main Road when it veered into the north bound lane and struck a white Chevrolet head-on. The Chevrolet was operated by a 53 year old local woman. It was determined that Lima suffered an apparent drug overdose while driving. Narcan was administered twice and he was then taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
Lima has been charged with driving under the influence along with traffic violations. The 53 year old victim was reported to be uninjured.
