Local man dies from injuries involved in scooter, vehicle accident
According to Middletown Police, a local man has died after injuries he sustained in a scooter accident.
According to Middletown Police, a local man has died after injuries he sustained in a scooter accident.
On Monday, just before 9 a.m., the Middletown Police Department and Middletown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a scooter and a passenger car. The accident occurred on Valley Road at the O’Neil Blvd. intersection.
The operator of the scooter, Donald Boucher, 56, of Newport, RI was transported from the scene of the accident to Rhode Island Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The operator of the vehicle, 71 from Newport, did not appear to be injured in the crash.
The department’s accident reconstruction team continues to investigate the accident. No charges, as of yet, have been filed.
