Local man and woman sentenced to prison in Bristol County Superior Court after over a kilo of drugs seized

A local man and woman have been sentenced to prison in Fall River Superior Court following a drug raid which resulted in the seizure of well over a kilo of illicit drugs.

According to police, on Monday, February 24th, 2025, New Bedford detectives concluded their investigation into a fentanyl distribution service being operated out of Swan Street. A search warrant was executed, with the targets being 38-year-old Christopher Ferreira and 34-year-old Kayla Kasmouski.

As a result of the search that followed, detectives seized over 824 grams of cocaine, over 512 grams of fentanyl, 76 film strips of Suboxone, an assortment of pills, packaging materials, digital scales, and $5,643 in cash that was seized as a result of that nature of the charges.

Ferreira and Kasmouski were both charged with trafficking in 200 grams or more of cocaine, trafficking in 200 grams or more of fentanyl, conspiracy to violate the drug law, and possession to distribute “crack.”

Kasmouski was additionally charged with trafficking fentanyl in 18 grams or more and a warrant arrest.

Court records show that on Thursday, Ferreira pled guilty to lesser charges and was sentenced to not less than 5 years to not more than 8 years with credit for 150 days already served.

In November of 2025, Kasmouski also pled guilty to lesser charges and was sentenced to not less than 3 1/2 years to not more than 7 1/2 in State Prison with credit for 252 days already served.
