A local bus company has issued a touching tribute to one of their own.

Fisher Bus Inc. of Somerset took to social media to announce the death of 73-year-old Carlos Correia of Westport.

“For those of you who have not heard, it is with sincere sorrow, that we pass along the news that a much-admired former employee of ours, Carlos Correia, has passed away. Carlos was a dedicated Fisher Bus employee for 16 years, driving school bus routes in Fall River and for many years in Somerset, always with the utmost care and compassion for the students that he drove, even up to the last few weeks prior to his passing. He very much enjoyed his time with the students on his daily routes, and he also very much enjoyed driving charter trips and built a wonderful camaraderie with many drivers along the way. Carlos was a great man, and we are truly saddened by his sudden passing. He will most certainly leave a significant void here at Fisher Bus and will be missed tremendously by all.”

According to an obituary, “Carlos worked as a Shift Manager at Quaker Fabric for more than 30 years and in recent years was employed as a School Bus Driver by Fisher Co.”

“Carlos was an avid sports fan, especially the New England Patriots. In his youth, he played soccer during his time living in Bermuda. He enjoyed playing darts and being outside either gardening or landscaping. He took immense pride in his home and even built a substantial portion of his family’s former home in Somerset.”

His visitation will be held on Friday, December 5th, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County Street, Somerset. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carlos’ honor may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
