Lloyd Center bringing marine life to Fall River Public Library
The Lloyd Center for Environmental Studies will bring their “Estuary on Wheels” to Fall River Public Library, 104 North Main Street, on Friday, July 20 at 11:00 a.m. with a one-hour program designed to introduce children to the animals and artifacts of the region’s estuaries. This exciting, hands-on marine science program is recommended for children ages 12 and younger.
Children will discover first-hand the adaptations of various marine organisms by handling and observing live specimens and artifacts such as shells, egg cases, and fish bones. Staff members from the Lloyd Center will be on hand to share information and fascinating facts about these amazing creatures that live in nearby coastal regions. Parents are invited to bring a blanket to spread on the library’s Elm Street lawn and a picnic lunch or snacks for this outdoor presentation. In case of rain, the event will take place in the library’s meeting room. This program is part of the library’s Summer Reading Safari program, sponsored by Rockland Trust Bank.
