List of animals seized; arrest made in animal cruelty case
A local man with a list of pets has been arrested on several animal cruelty charges.
According to Pawtucket Police, on April 15, Pawtucket Police Detectives assisted the Rhode Island SPCA with an investigation into the cruelty of animals on Lawn Ave in Pawtucket, RI.
A court ordered search warrant was executed at the property where seven rabbits, one parrot, one lizard, and multiple rats, and mice were seized.
Today, an Affidavit & Arrest Warrant was court authorized for the arrest of 21-year-old Scott Ellis of Lawn Ave, Pawtucket, for three counts of Unnecessary Cruelty to Animals (4-1-3 RIGL) and nine counts of Overwork, Mistreatment or Failure to Feed Animals (4-1-2 RIGL).
Ellis was contacted and responded the Pawtucket Police Department. He was subsequently placed under arrest.
Ellis will be held overnight and presented to Providence District Court for arraignment.
