Lighting upgrades on Braga Bridge in Fall River, Somerset, to take place several days a week for 16 weeks, will cause lane closures
FALL RIVER/SOMERSET- The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that it will be performing lighting upgrades on the Braga Bridge in Fall River and Somerset.
Work will take place beginning tonight, Tuesday, May 28, at 9:00 p.m. and continuing until Wednesday morning at 4:00 a.m. Going forward after tonight, work on I-195 eastbound will be conducted nightly from Sunday to Thursday, with all work concluding by Friday mornings. Work on I-195 westbound will be conducted nightly from Monday through Friday, with all work concluding by Saturday mornings. These hours and days will be in place during the summertime operations and will continue for 16 weeks.
Right lane closure will take place on the eastbound and westbound side when work is being done.
Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
All scheduled work is weather dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency situation.

What a waste of time & money, not to mention the traffic delays. Just because other towns have fancy lighting doesn’t mean we needed it. The lighting on the bridge was sufficient, and the money could have been well spent elsewhere!
