Letter to the editor: Thurber is genuinely committed to finding a balance that protects everyone on all issues

This is an opinion letter that was submitted to Fall River Reporter and was not written by us as we do not endorse candidates.

After observing state and local politics for years, I am writing to express my support for Justin Thurber as the State Representative for the 5th District. I have seen Pat Haddad repeatedly prioritize the interests of big business over those of her constituents. Her campaign contributions in August alone demonstrate her alignment with large corporations rather than the residents she is supposed to represent.

In contrast, I have had the opportunity to meet with Justin Thurber on numerous occasions after meetings that directly impacted residents. He is genuinely committed to finding a balance that protects everyone on all issues. Unlike Pat Haddad, who is rarely seen at community meetings except for self-promotional events and biennial fundraisers, Justin has been actively engaging with residents for the past few years. He has gone door-to-door, listening to concerns and offering practical solutions.

Pat Haddad’s long tenure has been marked by her obligations to lobbyists, attorney firms, and political organizations. This has been the status quo for 23 years and I have attached her donor list for reference. It is time to return this position to someone who truly serves the people. Justin Thurber is that candidate. He has demonstrated his dedication to the community and his willingness to work hard for the benefit of all residents.

We have the opportunity to elect a representative who will genuinely serve the interests of the people. I urge you to support Justin Thurber for State Representative of the 5th District.
