Fall River/Massachusetts – “How many more avoidable accidents and injuries have to occur before something is done?

I have lived in this city for my entire life and spent a whole lot of time commuting as a pedestrian. This city is an unforgiving wasteland for anyone outside of a motor vehicle, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

I have seen countless accidents due to inattention and poor street design, and it’s deeply disturbing. Just this week I saw an accident on Rhode Island Ave. where an SUV got t-boned because the turn lane is not wide enough for a vehicle to comfortably fit without having to worry about getting hit.

The amount of money we pay Police Officers and EMS workers to stand there and collect information/ perform cleanups on these avoidable accident scenes, we can be putting towards renewing the traffic engineering.

We sure give enough to the city and state, I say it’s time we get what we’ve paid for.”

Welcome to every old New England city and town. They weren’t designed for today’s vehicle and traffic flow. How about people just take their heads out of their a.. when they drive.
