Lakeville Fire Department responds to two crashes, involving 5 vehicles
A local fire department responded to two crashes with injuries within minutes of each other on Tuesday evening.
According to the Lakeville Fire Department, they were dispatched to the area of 133 Bedford Street (Route 18) for a motor vehicle accident involving 3 vehicles.
At the time of the crash, Ambulance 3 was committed to a previous medical emergency. Ambulance 1 responded immediately with Engine 1 delayed (staffed with call back). Multiple occupants requested medical aid, sending a Middleborough ambulance to the scene. Lakeville Ambulance 3 responded back from BI Plymouth.
One patient was transported to St Luke’s Hospital by Ambulance 1. Two patients requesting treatment eventually refused transport.
As crews reset from the first crash, a second accident involving 2 vehicles occurred on Main Street in the area of Bridge Street.
Four people were evaluated for injuries at this scene but none required transportation to the hospital.
Ambulance 3 then responded back to the fire station for a walk in medical.
The Department is on pace to set another record for the number of emergency responses this year.
