Kane Hodder’s Friday the 13th visit to Fall River brings joy to horror fans
Fall River — Friday the 13th brings fear to some, but for hundreds of fans, it was the perfect day to meet a horror icon in the Scholarship City.
Fans of the genre descended on Fall River’s Lizzie Borden House Friday, where Kane Hodder, the actor best known for portraying Jason Voorhees in four installments of the Friday the 13th film franchise, greeted ticket holders for a meet-and-greet, photo opportunity, and autograph session.
The hundreds of attendees also received a guided tour of the historic property which was the site of the infamous 1892 axe murders of Andrew and Abby Borden, a crime for which Lizzie Borden was tried and acquitted, and which remains one of the most debated cases in American criminal history.
The event was organized by US Ghost Adventures, which operates the Lizzie Borden House. Kelli Bloomquist, communications director for US Ghost Adventures, said the response exceeded expectations.
“We knew this was going to be a special event, and the enthusiasm from fans who traveled from all over the world to be here really speaks to the passion of the horror community,” Bloomquist said. “Pairing Kane Hodder with the Lizzie Borden House on Friday the 13th just made sense. It was a day that many fans are going to be talking about for a long time.”
Ashley Bolieiro, manager at the Lizzie Borden House, said the event created a meaningful opportunity both for the property and for the broader Fall River community.
“Events like this give people a reason to come to Fall River, and while they’re here, learn about the real history of Lizzie Borden and this house,” Bolero said. “It’s not just about the fun of the day, it’s about bringing visitors into the community and making sure Lizzie’s story continues to be told.”
Hodder has cultivated a reputation as one of the most fan-accessible figures in the horror genre and his visit Friday to Fall River solidified it.
