K9 Magno finds secret compartment filled with cocaine, leads to two arrests

Two have been arrested on multiple charges after a good catch by a K9 officer and his partner.

According to Pawtucket Police, on Monday, the Pawtucket Police Narcotics Unit, with the assistance of K9 Officer Leach and K9 Magno, stopped a vehicle suspected to be involved in transporting large amounts of cocaine.

K9 Magno immediately alerted to the odor of narcotics in the vehicle and, after further investigation by narcotics detectives, a secret electronically controlled compartment was located in the vehicle that contained approximately 3 kilograms of cocaine.

The driver, 37-year-old Jonatan De Leon, of Providence, and passenger 32-year-old Wendy Encarnacion De Leon, of Pawtucket, were both arrested. They were both arraigned on Tuesday in 6th District Court and held without bail.

Jonatan De Leon was charged with Manufacture/ Possession /Deliver Cocaine > 1 Kilo, Possession W/ Intent Schedule I & II, Driving While in Possession of Controlled Substance, and Possession W/ Intent Schedule I & II.

Wendy Encarnacion De Leon was charged with Manufacture/ Possession /Deliver Cocaine > 1 Kilo, Possession W/ Intent Schedule I & II, and Conspiracy.
