CARLISLE – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Carlisle Chief of Police Andrew Amendola have confirmed that a juvenile has been cited in connection with a serious crash that occurred earlier this month in Carlisle.

On July 15, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m. Carlisle Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of North Road and Rutland Street.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the 17-year-old driver of a Nissan Altima was travelling on North Street when they allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into a Nissan Rouge that was travelling on Rutland Street.

Upon arrival at the scene, police located a six-year-old child who had been ejected from the vehicle suffering from serious injuries.  The child was transported to a Boston Hospital where he remains hospitalized at this time.  The child’s mother, the operator of the second vehicle, was transported to an area hospital as a precaution.  The juvenile driver was also transported.

The juvenile driver has been cited with negligent operation and failure to stop at a stop sign.  He will be summonsed to Juvenile District Court on August 7, 2024.

This crash is being investigated by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Carlisle Police and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Reconstruction Section
