Joey Medeiros to bring his extensive chef and restaurant experience to Fall River

They say change is constant and with that, change is coming to a Fall River establishment.

Executive Chef Joey Medeiros will be taking over St. John’s kitchen.

The Acores Family Restaurant, currently located inside of the St. John’s Athletic Club at 1365 Rodman Street, announced recently that they are leaving after December 28th and moving to Swansea.

Medeiros, who has been featured on “The Rhode Show”, has decades of experience in the restaurant business.

Medeiros has held Executive Chef positions at the Hermitage Club at Haystack Mountain in Vermont, The Newport Experience in Newport, RI, and several other Rhode Island based restaurants including The Thirsty Gull, Top of the Bay, Chair 5, and Proof. He has also owned and operated The Pin Seeker Pub in Vermont.

The eatery, called Olimpio’s Restaurant, is paying homage to Medeiros’ father’s oldest brother and father figure Olimpio Medeiros.

Olimpio’s will feature an array of fresh seafood dishes in addition to Portuguese, and Italian cuisine using Medeiros’ farm and sea to table experience. I’m also told he makes a mean chicken parmigiana.

Olimpio’s will debut in January with an exact date to be determined.
