Interim Superintendent names new Executive Director of Human Resources for Fall River Public Schools

Fall River Public Schools Interim Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Smith has announced the appointment of Dr. Christine Godino as the district’s Executive Director of Human Resources, effective July 1, 2026.

FRPS states that Dr. Godino has more than two decades of educational leadership. Throughout her career, she has led initiatives focused on supporting students, strengthening school communities, and developing effective systems that help educators and school staff succeed.

“Dr. Godino’s extensive experience leading large and diverse school systems, combined with her understanding of personnel development, will make her an invaluable member of our leadership team,” said Interim Superintendent Dr. Smith. “Filling the Human Resources position was a priority of mine, as the role is essential to attracting, supporting, and retaining highly qualified educators and staff. Dr. Godino has built a reputation for fostering collaborative relationships and supporting employees at every level, and I am confident she will help move our district forward.”

Most recently, Dr. Godino was the Director of Special Education in the Whitman-Hanson Regional School District. Before that role, she served as the superintendent of Avon Public Schools and held several central office leadership positions in Massachusetts school districts. Her experience includes overseeing personnel management, collective bargaining, professional development, policy implementation, and strategic planning.

As Executive Director of Human Resources, Dr. Godino will oversee recruitment, hiring, employee relations, certification and licensure, professional development, and other personnel functions that support the district’s more than 2,500 employees.
