Injuries sustained after driver crashes into two Massachusetts State Police cruisers while on scene
A driver sustained injuries after multiple police cruisers that responded to a scene were damaged in a collision.
According to the State Police Association of Massachusetts, early Sunday morning, Troopers, alongside Methuen Fire and Police, responded to a 911 call reporting a crash.
While on scene, an uninvolved motorist struck two police cruisers. Fortunately, both cruisers were unoccupied, and no injuries were reported by any of the first responders.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the cruisers was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was cited for the crash.
The State Police Union wanted to remind drivers on how they can help protect responders at a scene.
“This incident serves as a stark reminder of the risks our Troopers and all first responders face. It emphasizes the critical importance of the Commonwealth’s “Slow Down and Move Over” law. This law protects our first responders when approaching emergency vehicles on our roadways.”
