Injuries reported after Fall River personnel respond to multi-vehicle crash involving school bus
Injuries were reported this morning after a multi-vehicle crash in Fall River involving a school bus.
According to Captain Barden Castro, at 7:22 a.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a school bus that was traveling northbound on Canal Street, and a black Honda sedan that was traveling southbound. The school bus had 9 student passengers along with a driver and two adult monitors.
Fall River School Department transportation officials responded to the scene and transported the students to the Doran School. Castro stated that he was informed that all of the students’ parents were notified of the incident and that several students complained of headaches, but no serious injuries were reported.
During the multi-vehicle crash, the Honda sedan also collided with a parked sports utility vehicle which caused the sedan to flip onto it’s side. The driver of the sedan was transported by fire department paramedics to St. Anne’s Hospital for treatment. It appears that contact between the bus and the Honda took place when the driver sides of each vehicle struck each other.
Ofc. Brennan Cardoza is conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash which will include viewing the camera footage from the school bus and speaking with witnesses.
