Injured man found in building armed with machete subdued in Fall River
A man armed with a machete was subdued in Fall River this week.
At approximately 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, a call came into the Fall River Police Department for a man with a machete that was bleeding at Borden Medical Associates at 534 Prospect Street.
According to Lieutenant Jay Huard, the man was suffering from multiple stabbings that were self inflicted.
The subject was found inside 300 Hanover Street where security found him on the third floor.
The man surrendered the machete he was armed with and was taken into custody.
A search of his backpack revealed $19,000 and four ounces of marijuana.
According to Huard, the man was summonsed due to his lacerations to both arms and his right knee.
He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he was listed in stable condition as of Wednesday afternoon.
