In a day with twists and turns, Ponte turns down Mayor’s offer

Published

on

In a day that initially started with City Council President asking Mayor Correia to resign, the day has finished with the same result.

Earlier this afternoon, Ponte asked the Mayor to step aside or during Tuesday night’s meeting, the City Council would be voting to temporarily have his duties removed while Correia’s court case is pending.

Then hours later, Mayor Correia offered to have Ponte or VP Pam Laliberte-Lebeau co-sign off on city business as a compromise.

Late this evening, Ponte has responded to the Mayor’s letter with a second letter reiterating the Mayor to step down while his legal case is pending.

The City Council plans a vote on removing the mayor from his duties during Tuesday’s City Council meeting.

Ponte’s letter is below.

Who is Cliff Pontes’ audience. After watching this kid run Fall River’s legislative agenda or lack there of, I wouldnt ask Cliff for advice on tying my shoes, never mind trying to fill the mayors shoes. Politics is too dirty a game for Ponte, he has no understanding of the role he currently appears to play two times a month now. Name any legislation enacted by Ponte or any of his fellow cronies that has made life better in Fall River. Get a Life Cliff!

You probably wear velcro shoes, so tying them probably isn’t an issue, “crusader.”

Say something reasonably intelligent, or I’m done with you. At least Colon Dias can string together a few sentences to convey a thought, but you claim to have such a high IQ that it would be a nuisance for you to present any relevant
ideas. By the way that’s a nice velcro wallet you put your lunch money in!
