ICE Boston, DEA New England, ATF Boston, arrests Honduran national charged with child trafficking crimes

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, together with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, arrested Vivian Gisselle Soriano-Neto, an undocumented Honduran national, in Providence. She faces charges of two counts of indecent solicitation of a child and trafficking of a minor. The operation involved ICE Boston, DEA New England, and ATF Boston.

“Vivian Gisselle Soriano-Neto allegedly trafficked a child for harmful purposes,” stated Patricia H. Hyde, acting Field Office Director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston. “Children are highly vulnerable, and those who harm them pose a serious danger to our communities. ICE Boston remains committed to enhancing public safety by apprehending and deporting criminal noncitizens in New England.”

Soriano was first apprehended by U.S. Customs and Border Protection on October 25, 2017, after illegally crossing into the U.S. at the Calexico, California, Port of Entry. CBP then handed her over to ICE custody.

On November 9, 2017, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services issued Soriano a notice to appear before an immigration judge from the Justice Department. She was released on parole by ICE on November 17, 2017.

The Providence Police Department arrested Soriano for the charges of indecent solicitation of a child and trafficking of a minor. She is currently in ICE custody awaiting removal proceedings.
