ICE Boston arrests foreign fugitive in Massachusetts convicted of aggravated murder
BOSTON — ICE Boston arrested a criminal illegal alien and foreign fugitive from Brazil, during targeted operations at Westborough District Court in Westborough.
Authorities in Brazil issued an arrest warrant for Maycon Souto Dos Reis, on Sept. 14, 2024, following his conviction for aggravated murder. He was sentenced to 14 years and three months in prison there.
Dos Reis came to ERO Boston’s attention following his May 29th arrest for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in Southborough.
“This is yet another example of what the media often characterizes as a non-criminal, when in reality, many of these individuals are murderers, sexual predators, gang members and more. They simply do not have a criminal record in the United States,” said acting ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston Field Office Director David Wesling. “We will continue to pursue these dangerous criminal aliens that sanctuary politicians fight to protect.”
ICE Boston states that Dos Reis entered the United States illegally June 7, 2024, and was released into the country by the Biden administration.
He will remain in ICE custody pending the outcome of his deportation proceedings.
