I-195 to Route 24 in Fall River to have detours due to highway light replacement

FALL RIVER – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is announcing that it will be performing highway light replacement on I-195 westbound at exit 14A to Route 24 southbound.  The I-195 westbound exit 14A to Route 24 southbound will be closed to traffic to facilitate this work. The work is scheduled to take place between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m., on Thursday, March 6, and Friday, March 7. Work is anticipated to be completed by Saturday morning, March 8.  The following detour will be in place:   

I-195 westbound exit 14A detour:  

  • Continue westbound towards exit 13 
  • Take exit 13 
  • Turn left onto Plymouth Avenue 
  • Turn left towards ramp to I-195 eastbound 
  • Take exit 14A towards Route 24 southbound 

Drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.           

          

Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.       

       

All scheduled work is weather dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency.
