Hung Jury in Karen Read Murder Trial

Published

DEDHAM, MA – After five days of deliberations, a jury has been unable to reach a verdict in the Karen Read murder trial. Norfolk Superior Judge Beverly Cannone has issued a mistrial in the case.

The jury twice sent notes to Cannone over the past week alerting the court that they were unable to come to a decision. Tuesday morning Cannone presented the jury with the Tuey-Rodriguez process to assist them in trying one last time to come to a verdict.

Judge Cannone has permanently released this jury and asked to come back, sometime at the end of July, to revisit the status of the case.

Members of the O’Keefe family were crying.

The Commonwealth intends to re-try the case.

This is a developing story.

Good luck retrying this case! Everyone in the state of Massachusetts has heard about this case at some point. Future jury pools will be tained!

Heard about it, sure. Paid attention to it, no.

Exactly my point. People don’t have to be tuned into the case to know about it but have gleaned enough info from various sources
