Hundreds of strangers attend funeral service of Massachusetts veteran with no known family or close friends to attend
BOURNE, MA — Hundreds who did not know the deceased attended the funeral service Friday of Francis M. “Frank” Dobrynski, a proud United States Army and Air Force veteran who passed away earlier this year without known family or close friends to attend his burial.
State Representative Steven Xiarhos, State Representative Justin Thurber, Representative John Gaskey, the Marine Corps League, the Patriot Guard Riders, Big Nick’s Ride for the Fallen, State Senator Kelly A. Dooner, several local veterans’ organizations, and members of the public were among those in attendance
Frank was laid to rest with full military honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne — the hallowed grounds where thousands of American heroes rest.
A resident of Carver, Massachusetts, Dobrynski served honorably during the Korean Conflict in both branches of the U.S. military. He earned the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal for his dedicated service. After his military duties, Frank worked in Las Vegas as a Keno Writer, where he was known for his warm manner and love of meeting people.
