Human remains found has been identified as missing Massachusetts woman, Sandra Crispo

BROCKTON – Human remains found along Route 3 in Plymouth have been identified as Sandra Crispo, a Hanson woman who was reported missing in August, 2019, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz and Hanson Police Chief Michael Casey have announced through a release.

On March 6, 2025, a hunter located what was believed to be human remains in a deer trail near the breakdown lane between exits 13 and 14 of Route 3 North in Plymouth. Massachusetts State Police responded to the wooded area and located a portion of a human skull. The remains were recovered and transported to the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office contacted the FBI to conduct further testing on the skull. The FBI determined that the skull was a CODIS match to the DNA of Sandra Crispo in one of the FBI’s forensic DNA databases.

Crispo, who was last seen on August 7, 2019, was 54-years-old when she disappeared, and lived at 47 Spofford Avenue in Hanson. She was reported missing to Hanson Police on August 9, 2019, after family members were unable to reach her and discovered that she was not inside her home.

Since Crispo was reported missing, Hanson Police, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, and other law enforcement partners have conducted an extensive and exhaustive investigation into her disappearance. That investigation has included searches, interviews, forensic testing, reviews of records, and other investigative efforts.
