Hulk Hogan, who has passed away at 71, wrestled and was fired in Fall River, was in Swansea and Attleboro just last year
A wrestling legend has passed away.
According to TMZ, Hall of Famer 71-year-old Hulk Hogan died after “medics were dispatched to the WWE icon’s Clearwater, Florida home early Thursday morning … with operators stating it was regarding a cardiac arrest.”
The 6-time WWF/WWE Champion and 6-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion has had ties to the Fall River area.
On September 11th of 2024, Hogan appeared at Yankee Spirits in Swansea and Attleboro promoting his Real American Beer including meet and greets and autograph signings.
Hogan also appeared in Fall River.
On episode #2024 of the Joe Rogan Experience and roughly 24 minutes into the podcast, Hogan begins telling a story about him wrestling in Fall River.
“I called Vince McMahon Senior that night from Fall River, Massachusetts, because I was wrestling at a high school in Fall River, Massachusetts. I called Vince because he was my guy, we were really good friends. I told him I’m leaving tomorrow to do the Stallone movie (Rocky 3).”
“He goes, No you’re not. It’s midnight now, you have to be in Charlotte at noon for TV with Crockett. I said, no I told you I’m not going to do that I am going to do this movie and as soon as I am done, I will come back. He said, Well don’t come back. You’re never going to work here again.”
We believe the high school Hogan is referring to is actually the Bank Street Armory and of course Hogan went on to a successful career in the WWF/WWE.
