Homeless man accused of attempted murder in two separate Massachusetts incidents on the same day

Chief Timothy Hanlon reports that the Whitman Police Department has identified a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for a man, who is currently in custody on an unrelated matter, in connection with the stabbing that occurred at an apartment complex in Whitman Tuesday night.

23-year-old Kedrian Perry Marshall whose last address is unknown, will be charged with Attempted Murder.

Police reviewed surveillance videos and photos from the area of the incident and shared those photos with law enforcement partners, including Transit Police, which was investigating an incident earlier in the day involving a suspect with a similar description.

Through their investigation, Whitman Police were able to identify Perry Marshall as the suspect on Wednesday, March 29. Whitman Police subsequently applied for and were granted an arrest warrant.

Perry Marshall was arrested by Transit Police on Wednesday, March 29 at approximately 4 p.m. on unrelated charges. He will be arraigned in that case Boston Municipal Court before being arraigned in Brockton District Court on the Whitman charges at a later date.

At approximately 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, Whitman Police responded to a possible stabbing at an apartment complex on Myrtle Avenue. Arriving officers located a 27-year-old male victim who was suffering from multiple stab wounds to the head and upper body. The victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital to be treated for his injuries. He is expected to recover.

Witnesses in the area provided officers with a description of a suspect. Whitman Police units, along with an Abington Police K-9 Unit and the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department BCI unit, searched the area Tuesday night but were unable to locate a suspect.

Perry Marshall has prior connections to the Whitman area, however, the circumstances surrounding the alleged stabbing remain under investigation.

On March 28th at 2:00 p.m. at MBTA State Street Station, a male violently kicked an unsuspecting individual into the pit. After an investigation TPD detectives arrested Perry Marshall for Attempted Murder.

The victim declined medical services and was not injured.
