Home cooking could just be what is needed as Fall River’s Sanon and the Red Storm coming to Providence to take on Friars

A Fall River basketball star is returning home this weekend for a clash against the Friars in Providence and it may just be what the doctor ordered.

While the 17th ranked St. John’s Red Storm are on a 10-game win streak, who legendary coach Rick Pitino has called the team’s most physically talented player, Joson Sanon, has struggled of late.

Sanon’s last start took place on January 3rd against the same Providence College Friars where he shot 1-12. It was the Red Storm’s last loss.

Strong play by teammates Ian Jackson and Dylan Darling has sent Sanon to the bench where he has continued to struggle with his shot and has seen his minutes decrease.

According to Storm The Paint, Sanon’s attitude has been great, and Pitino still has confidence in him and his ability.

“I think if you’re talking about physical talent, [Sanon’s] the most talented guy on this roster. If you’re talking about understanding how to play, he’s not. Does he want to learn the things that he doesn’t do well? That’s what it’s going to come down to whether or not he reaches greatness.”

Saturday will also be a homecoming for Bryce Hopkins who stared for the Friars last year.

The tilt will take place Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Amica Mutual Pavilion and will be televised on TNT with Sling TV, Prime Video, and Max as streaming options.

Sanon is a great kid with plenty of talent and there is no reason why he can’t figure it out and dig out of his current struggles. Saturday
